Cinematique at Woodland park Zoo

“I loved interacting with all of the employees at the animals and they would talk to the kids and share details- it makes it SO SO good to visit the zoo! It was also so fun to see other families we know!”

“Thank you for all you do to make this happen for the kids and their families.”

“I think they are great [events].

I enjoy time with the kids doing things I can afford. Thank you, my kids loved it, smiles on their face are worth millions.”

May 25, 2024

On the 25th of May 2024, we welcomed over 1000 foster and underserved youth along with their families for a day of unforgettable fun at the 2nd Annual Cinematique day at Woodland Park Zoo.

The joy and exuberance of the event were apparent, some of which can be seen in the pictures below. The zoo was a great place for youth and their families to enjoy a day out, play with the animals and learn more about wildlife and Woodland Park Zoo’s mission.

Free tickets, translated guides (in Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, Somali and Vietnamese) and discounted food around the park - courtesy of Woodland Park Zoo - made sure the event was full of laughter, food and family. 82.7% of our visitors identified as BIPOC, 91.2% of families identified as being underserved, low income or fostering and we were lucky enough to serve about 700 children (between 1-17 years old)!

Cinematique day is quickly becoming a tradition, made possible by all of you. We are hoping and trying to make it accessible and available to as many deserving youth and families as we can.

Our 3rd Annual Cinematique day at Woodland Zoo is planned to be on the 24th of May, 2025. If you are not already on the mailing list, scroll down to add your email and stay updated with all things Cinematique!

Thank you to all those who attended. We hope to see you and many more next time!
